Shotjoin is an iPhone app that joins a screen recording, or several screenshots, into one long image. It is made by Nguyen Tung Son, who runs it as the household business Son Nguyen IT Solutions in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam (“we”). This policy explains what Shotjoin does with your data. The Terms of Use (shotjoin.com/terms) cover the rest. Questions: support@shotjoin.com.
In short
- Everything happens on your iPhone. Shotjoin has no server and sends nothing over the internet.
- Your recordings, photos and images never reach us. They leave your iPhone only when you save or share them yourself.
- Shotjoin has no account, no ads and no tracking.
- Long images stay in the app for 7 days after your last edit, then leave on their own.
Who handles your data
- You, on your iPhoneShotjoin does all its work on your iPhone. We have no server, and we never receive your recordings, photos, images or text.
- AppleHandles the payment for Unlock Everything, and may send us crash reports if you share analytics with app developers.
What stays on your iPhone
- Screen recordings. When you tap Start Recording, iOS records your screen, without sound, and hands it to Shotjoin’s recorder. The recorder saves the video in storage on your iPhone that only Shotjoin can read. Shotjoin joins the video into one long image, then deletes it.
- Long images. Each capture, from a recording or from stitched photos, is kept in Shotjoin’s own storage on your iPhone, with its screens, your edits, marks and notes. A capture stays for 7 days after your last edit, then leaves the app with all its files. You can delete it sooner. Images you saved to Photos or Files stay there.
- Names of captures. Shotjoin names a capture after the title at the top of its first screen, such as a chat’s name or a page’s title. It reads the title with Apple’s text recognition, on your iPhone.
- Settings. Your export format and size, your watermark and the Capture switches.
Photos
- Shotjoin asks to see your photo library to show your screenshots and screen recordings in its own picker, where you can slide across several to pick them. You can allow all your photos, or only the ones you choose.
- Shotjoin reads your photos and videos only on your iPhone. It copies the ones you pick into your capture and never uploads them.
- If a photo or video you pick is in iCloud Photos, iOS downloads it from iCloud for Shotjoin.
- Choose a Recording reads the screen recording you pick. The original stays in Photos as it was.
- Save to Photos asks only to add images. Shotjoin adds your image and reads nothing else.
Text in your images
Hide can find personal info in your image, such as phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses and card numbers, so you can cover it. It reads the text with Apple’s text recognition, on your iPhone. Nothing is uploaded, and the text is not kept. Cutting a sticker out of a photo also runs on your iPhone.
Saving and sharing
When you tap Save to Photos, Save to Files or Share, your image goes where you choose. From there, that app or service handles it under its own terms, for example iCloud Photos if you use it.
Unlock Everything
When you buy Unlock Everything, Apple handles the payment. We never see your card or your Apple Account details. Shotjoin checks the App Store’s signed record of your purchase on your iPhone, to know that the purchase is yours. Restore Purchase asks the App Store for it again. Apple sends us sales reports, which do not name you.
What we do not do
- No account, no sign-in and no profile.
- No ads, no analytics or tracking tools, and no data brokers. We do not sell or share your data, and we never have it.
- If you choose to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone’s settings, Apple may send us crash reports, which do not name you. We use them only to fix crashes.
When you write to us
If you email support@shotjoin.com, we get your email address and what you write. We use them only to answer you, and delete them when they are no longer needed.
Children
Shotjoin is a general tool, not directed at children. It collects no personal data from anyone, children included.
Your choices
- Delete a capture at any time: in All Captures, touch and hold it, then tap Delete.
- Change what Shotjoin can see in Settings › Apps › Shotjoin › Photos.
- Deleting the Shotjoin app removes its captures, recordings and settings from your iPhone. Images you saved to Photos or Files stay.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us what data we keep about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Shotjoin sends us nothing, so we keep nothing about you, except the emails you send us. Write to support@shotjoin.com; we answer within 30 days. You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date. When a change matters, we will also say so in the app’s update notes.
